When accuracy, consistency, speed and uninterrupted production are crucial issues, rotary screen printing offers clear advantages in many industrial applications. By using the so-called 'kiss printing' principle, whereby the ink is applied at the point that substrate and screen meet, the chance of deviation is virtually nil.
Applications include:
- Medical. Sensors for blood-tests and heart monitoring devices, glucose sticks, and temperature indicators (used during sterilisation of medical implements).
- Pharmaceutical. Applying adhesives on skin-plasters.
- Product identification. RFid systems or 'smart labels' for logistics information (luggage handling and automated tracking of products) and security clearance (access cards for e.g. airports, car parks, ski pistes or trains.)
- Electro luminescent lamps. Cinemas, emergency lighting in buildings or aeroplanes, automobile dashboards, toys, promotional items and background lighting for membrane switches.
